Dermal fillers are a popular treatment choice due to their versatility and ability to safely achieve many aesthetic outcomes. Over time, our skin loses volume and elasticity due to environmental factors, repetitive muscle movements, and the natural effects of aging. Dermal fillers are an excellent option for restoring and replenishing suppleness and facial symmetry while creating a more youthful appearance.
Dermal fillers can achieve the following goals:
- Smooth marionette lines, smile lines, and parentheses around the mouth.
- Restore lost volume.
- Diminish vertical lip lines.
- Plump and create symmetry in the lips.
- Smooth chin dimples and creases.
- Define the chin and jawline.
- Improve balance in facial features.
- Raise scar depressions.
We carry many popular FDA-Approved dermal filler brands, including:
- Juvéderm (Ultra Plus XC, Voluma XC, Volbella XC)
- Restylane (Kysse, Lift)
Your Treat Yourself provider will suggest the best dermal filler product to help you reach your aesthetic goals during your appointment.
Dermal filler is a soft, gel-like substance made with a hyaluronic acid (HA) base. Filler injections improve facial volume while deeply hydrating tissues. The results are semi-permanent, lasting roughly six to twelve months or more, depending on the dermal filler brand. The body will naturally metabolize the filler over time.
Your Treat Yourself injector will apply a topical anesthetic to numb the area before injection. After you are numb, the treatment area will be cleansed and sanitized. Then, your provider will inject the filler into the area with a needle or cannula. Filler injections feel comparable to a pinch and can cause some discomfort. The pain dissipates quickly, but you can expect considerable swelling, bruising, and tenderness at the injection site.
Dermal filler results are immediate! Ask for a handheld mirror to watch your injector administer the filler under the skin to see the difference. Swelling will appear within minutes and last for up to two weeks. After two weeks, the results of your filler injections will settle. Maintenance injections are required to maintain the effects of your injections.
